Sounds / Language

macOS Monterey 12.3, White Star 29.4.4

I have been using White Star for some time and would like to use it again as my default browser under Monterey.
At present, this is prevented by the fact that White Star has not been playing any sounds for some time.
The settings in macOS are correct.
I used to have Exploise Noisy Tabs installed, but not at the moment.
I can't find anything in the White Star settings to solve the problem.
Are there any other possibilities, for example about:config?

Additional question:
Will there ever be a German language package for a German user interface?

Hi, you should be able to use the Pale Moon language packs, and I posted about the sound issue, you can fix it by running it from the Terminal.app window. I will at a minimum with version 30 release a build specifically for Monterey, which will not require that workaround.

Thank you for the answer.
If I have understood correctly, there is no practicable solution at the moment.
Then I will wait for version 30.

German user interface is ok.

It is simple, open Terminal.app and type this in the command line:

Code:
/Applications/White\ Star.app/Contents/MacOS/whitestar

Not sure if the Applications folder is named differently on German locales but this works on English locales.

If that is infeasible for some reason that I don't understand, then wait for version 30 this week.

The application folder is the same.
/Applications/White\ Star.app/Contents/MacOS/whitestar im Terminal eingegeben --->
2022-03-19 16:20:29.533 whitestar[17824:367173] *** WARNING: Textured window <ToolbarWindow: 0x7fbfbf1c18d0> is getting an implicitly transparent titlebar. This will break when linking against newer SDKs. Use NSWindow's -titlebarAppearsTransparent=YES instead.
---> still version 29.4.4

Did the sound work running it like that?

Strange, okay that solved it for me... since White Star 30 is getting delayed... I'll post a new build of White Star 29.4.4 shortly to address the issue.

Just tried again - the sound works!
Thanks for your help.
I hope it is possible to continue with White Star.

After closing the terminal and restarting White Star, no sound again.
