Starting a new MXP app
#1
I'm starting a new app based on MXP (for mac) and UXP for windows. But I've been asked to not use the Pale moon forum for questions about the app I'm making. So i was wondering if i could ask around here instead. The app is called Noob Music and will be a replacement for iTunes since apple has stopped developing iTunes and i think apple music is very crummy. The app is far along and will hopefully be released soon but I'm having an issue with an javascript library I'm using called jsmediatags. i've posted an issue on the maintainers git describing the issue: https://github.com/aadsm/jsmediatags/issues/146 but i was thinking it couldn't hurt to ask around if anyone knows what the difference is between XHR requests done with the file:// protocol and the http:// protocol. Since the issue is that I'm trying to load the tags from audio files and for some reason large files cause a allocation size overflow when using the file:// protocol

I've decided to release pre-release version of this application for the purposes of getting some feedback on the application. The issue with large files and reading tags has not been fixed yet so you'll have to bear with that if you intend to try out the application. As you see if you try the application out, I've simply taken the Silver code and added Noob Music on top of that, I haven't decided yet if i want to keep the ability to go to any arbitrary page and browse the web, because I'm not 100% sure how i want to use the app and i would like to here from others If they would like to have that functionality. So i have left the surrounding xul and js unchanged and the silver code simply loads noob music xul window in a tab. And i have yet to add the functionality of opening the Noob Music xul page when opening a new tab. So some stuff is incomplete. But the application is usable and it would be nice to here what features you would like to see in an application like this, which i can add as features or possibly as extensions. And if anyone is interested in developing an extension for Noob Music and would like any information just contact me here or send me an email at www.noob.software@gmail.com

Here is link to the Noob Music: https://www.noob.software/downloads/noobmusic-v0.1.dmg

I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of this application? Hardware failure has left me with no copies of the source code or a copy of noob music, any version would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Noob Software
