Building Serpent
#1
Does anyone know what the correct build configurations are for using the unofficial branding, the default configuration is:

ac_add_options --enable-official-branding

export MOZILLA_OFFICIAL=1

So i am assuming removing the first line is the correct thing to do, but what about the next line? Should it be set to 2, 0 or just stay set to 1?

nvm i found it on the pale moon forum.

port of basilisk rebranded as "silver", however this is still in the works so some of the branding is still as serpent, and the about page is unchanged. Will hopefully fix this by next release.

Tips on completing the branding and about page are well appreciated.

I've installed "Silver" in Big Sur, Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion. The screen shots are from Lion, all Operating Systems I have tried  apart from Big Sur lose the app logo? the browser seems to work fine, just no logo.

Thanks for letting me know, I'm not sure what the cause is, the icon appears on both macs (mojave and Big Sur) i have tested Silver on. Will definitely try to fix this.

When I was messing with it, on recent versions... Big Sur and maybe Catalina there were drawing in the titlebar issues, but since Moonchild and Tobin were not interested in dealing with those issues they just disabled titlebar drawing completely in Pale Moon and since Basilisk seemed a bit redundant I didn't bother to work on it further.

The titlebar disappears when you minimize the window on macOS lower than Big Sur, so i would say the recommended macOS version for Silver is Big Sur.

I really hate to sound negative, but Big Sur isn't short of browser choices, but older versions of OS X are........

Just a note regarding the MPL... you need to link to the source code when posting binaries... You can link to the Basilisk/UXP github if the source is unmodified, if it is modified you need to link to your modified source.   Which is why I always have a link to the source when I post my binaries.
