  White Star - WebExtensions
Posted by: albatross - 05-12-2022, 08:50 AM - Forum: White Star - Replies (2)

Use the note-taking app Joplin. There is a browser extension "Web-Clipper" that allows you to save web pages and screenshots. It is said to be available for Chrome + Firefox. For Vivaldi + Waterfox the Web-Clipper can be downloaded and also works.
When trying for White Star (Monterey), the message "Pale Moon does not support WebExtensions" always appears with reference to Firefox. The same applies to Pale Moon (Windows).
Since I use White Star/Pale Moon a lot, my question is: Can anything be changed or are the WebExtensions not wanted?
Thanks

Release Notes

This is a new milestone release.

The main download is now built with the latest compiler on Monterey. I have provided a legacy build, built with the older build system I have been using since I starting making releases years ago.  If the modern builds work for everyone I will phase out the legacy builds.

The other highlights of this release are Firefox extension compatibility has been restored. We are now using the official Pale Moon platform with the restored MacOS support. The audio problems on Monterey should be resolved with both builds. The palemoon.org user agent override has been removed and the Pale Moon add-ons site no longer blocks MacOS clients.

Question What's wrong with this code?
Posted by: 3oheicrw - 04-27-2022, 11:01 AM - Forum: Dynamic Windows - Replies (1)

I know it's not in C but I'm not good in C and not find myself comfortable writing in C. It's FreeBASIC code but you could read and understand it easily. The problems is if you click to maximize the window then it becomes maximized but the minimize, maximize/restore and close button is not moved to the new location but still stuck at their previous location on the previous window size. I tried to tweak the code as much as I can but I can't fix it.

The platform is Windows 7 64 bit.

Release Notes

Security and bugfix update.

Still haven't been able to move over to the newer build systems fully, so still including the builds for Monterey. Only use the Monterey build if you are running Monterey and having audio problems. It will perform worse than the official build.

This build was a bit late since I had to redo my schedule and had a full day of work Tuesday and didn't get to work on it until late at night. Early Wednesday release only about 24 hours after Pale Moon release.

  Dynamic Windows 3.3 Status Update
Posted by: dbsoft - 04-09-2022, 06:32 PM - Forum: Dynamic Windows - Replies (15)

I haven't really got a solid plan for 3.3 yet, except for stabilizing iOS and Android... filling in whatever gaps I can.

To that end work has begun to add the tree widget to iOS and Android in 3.3.

A few pieces still missing on iOS, but good progress. Android tree widget will be next.

After that the most likely update will be a new API to allow the display of additional container columns on iOS and Android.

Pelles C can't link with dw.dll. It said the dll is invalid. Please download Pelles C and give it a try yourself.

Question There is no dll nor header shipped with dwib
Posted by: 1e9t8m29 - 03-30-2022, 10:19 AM - Forum: Dynamic Windows Interface Builder - Replies (3)

It's DWIB for windows vista 64 bit and later. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. The program doesn't come with dwib dll nor dwib header. Only the gui builder itself is available.

Security update.

Included a separate build for MacOS 12 Monterey. This was built with the latest Xcode clang optimization level 1 with the additional level 2 optimizations that I could enable via clang options. (This means it is not fully release optimized, but close) However the Monterey build does not have the audio issues present in the normal build on MacOS 12 Monterey.

I have been trying to figure out which optimization was causing the issue, but the Xcode bundled clang does not have the "opt" command which allows us to enable optimizations individually. There may be a way to do it with Xcode clang, but I haven't figured it out yet. Hopefully I will have either the optimization issue worked around or the individual optimization disabled for the White Star 30 release.

  Sounds / Language

macOS Monterey 12.3, White Star 29.4.4

I have been using White Star for some time and would like to use it again as my default browser under Monterey.
At present, this is prevented by the fact that White Star has not been playing any sounds for some time.
The settings in macOS are correct.
I used to have Exploise Noisy Tabs installed, but not at the moment.
I can't find anything in the White Star settings to solve the problem.
Are there any other possibilities, for example about:config?

Additional question:
Will there ever be a German language package for a German user interface?
